A plain-English overview of how our excavator dry hire works. A signed Dry Hire Agreement applies to every hire — we’ll walk you through it before handover.
All hire is dry hire (bare rental) — you supply the operator, we supply and maintain the machine. Equipment is hired on a rolling basis with no fixed minimum term; either party can end the hire with 7 days’ written notice.
The machine must only be operated by a competent operator holding a current White Card and excavator Verification of Competency (VOC). You must hold your own public liability insurance for the work being carried out.
Transport can be arranged through our tilt-tray carrier, priced up front by round-trip distance from our Campbellfield yard, plus a minimum call-out. You’re welcome to arrange your own licensed transport. Machines must be returned clean, refuelled and in handover condition (fair wear and tear excepted).
Hire is billed weekly in advance. A refundable bond / security deposit is held for the hire period and returned after the machine comes back, less any amounts owing for damage, cleaning or unpaid hire. All rates are quoted including GST unless stated.
Before any excavation you must obtain current Before You Dig Australia (BYDA) plans and locate, pothole and hand-expose all underground services. You are solely responsible for any strike or damage to underground or overhead services.
From handover until return the machine is at your risk. You must perform daily operator checks (fuel, oil, coolant, hydraulics, greasing, track tension), keep it secured against theft, and report any fault immediately. The machine must not be modified, sublet, or moved out of Victoria without written consent.
Breakdown from fair wear pauses hire charges until we repair or replace the machine. Breakdown caused by misuse or lack of daily servicing is at your cost and hire charges continue.
This page is a summary only. The full Dry Hire Agreement you sign before handover sets out the complete terms, including insurance, indemnity and title. Governing law is Victoria, Australia.
Last updated: July 2026. Terms are subject to change — the signed Dry Hire Agreement prevails.
